However, there are many remote islands in Japan, where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches. Fishing, camping, barbecue…

there are so many activities waiting for you!

Do you know there are also small islands near Tokyo? Yes, I will show you 4 islands in Kanto area, which you can visit from Tokyo!!

 

Oshima

There is an island that can be rearched from Tokyo, and Oshima is actually in Tokyo.

visiting for the first time when I was 17 years old, I have been attracted by this beautiful island of Oshima.

One thing I would like to mention is that Oshima is one of the most peaceful place in Tokyo.

I dropped the camera in the island.

However, I found that someone had brought my camera to the police when I went to the police station!

I recommend you to be relax at a beach or in the nature. Local food is delicious and make your stay interesting.

There are some smaller islands near Oshima and it might be a nice trip to go to another remote islands such as Niijima.

There are some islands where almost no people live, and the sea is very clean.

The nature in Oshima is also great just for walking around!

Enjoy hikings and short walking in a forest, a dessert, and beaches!

 

If you are lucky, you can see squirrels or deers!

Surprisingly there are few people at the beach in Oshima, and it is also in a state of being reserved.

You can enjoy the beach as if it is your private beach.

It is pleasant just to float on a floating ring, healing…

I recommend Sunrise Beach because it is the best beachh to see the sunrise as its name suggests.

The waves are also calm there. So It is safe for small children.
 

In “Okinawa Hometown Village” you can enjoy camping, surrounded by nature.

There is still the unspoiled nature, where you can find rare plants and animals.

Oshima is also an island with an active volcano.

it is also famous for people to enjoy hot springs all over the island.

Onsen(Hot spring) with a great view of the sea. This cannot be more relaxing…

Hatsushima

 Hatsushima is in Sagami Bay, eastern part of the Izu peninsula.

It is famous as the nearest island from the metropolitan area.

There are the Shinkansen(bullet trains) and the high-speed ship from Tokyo, it takes only one hour and a half by train and 30 minutes with a high-speed ship from Atami.

In Hatsushima’s sea, there is lots of fish which you cannot find near Japan.

This is because of the Kuroshio, water coming from far south. It is called “natural reef”.

It is nicce to enjoy swimming and snorkel, but you can also do scuba diving experience, swimming with lots of fish.

 

You easily find fresh fish at local markets.

You can aslo try the local dishes of fresh fish at the fish markets. You cannot miss this chance to taste the best seafood dishes!

 

And in the evening, camping is recommended at “Hatsushima Island Resort”.

All you need is “Kokoro(heart)” to enjoy!

Kouzushima

This place is the best for those who what to leave everything and be in the wilderness!

Kouzushima is located in the middle of the Izu 7 islands, and give you the best healing holiday in the nature!

It takes 3 hours from Hamamatsucho by jet ship, and 45 minutes from Chofu for airplanes.

As airplanes are expensive, I personally recommend a jet ship.

There is no theme park and leisure facilities in the island, also there is no convenience store.

In that sense, you can enjoy the quiet and slow time in the island that is very different from your everyday life.  

There is no need to say that the sea of ​​Kouzushima, which is called “Diamond Island”, is beautiful. 

You can see lots of fish as soon as you enter the water.  

Snorkelling and scuba diving are also recommended.  

In the evening, let’s enjoy camping at “Takuyuki Park Family Camp Site”.

Hachijo jima

 Hachijo jima is at the southern tip of Izu 7 islands. A view of beautiful ocean at this island is called Hachijo Blue and you cannot miss it!

It is the only campground in Hachijojima.
